The first week of preseason is officially in the books and it’s time to crank up the 2022 version of the APY NFL Football Pool! Coming to you live from one of the most beautiful, yet unfortunately NFL-less cities in the good ol US-of-A, San Diego, it’s time to kick this thing off. As in previous years, in the pool, participants make picks on every game during the season. The twist: you make four confidence picks each week that make those games either count for double (if you win), or make you lose a point (if you don’t win).
The entry fee is $20, same as it was the first year I ran it, which was many, many years ago. However, not totally sure how many (though 15 sounds about right), since much of the pool’s archives mysteriously disappeared about 9 months ago. But enough about that. I’ll have more details on what the prizes will be around Week 1 when we know how many people will be joining us this year.
For those who are eager to pay immediately, please send e-transfers to mattgouldburnfootball@gmail.com. A fee is required to be paid before Week 1’s Sunday games (September 11th).

Once I’m back in the Great White North, I’ll send out a more fulsome email outlining all the rules and regulations in this pool but in the meantime, if you’ve been in the pool before and you enjoyed it, please feel free to find others who would be interested in joining.

Updates will once again be provided on a weekly basis and while an email update will happen, more content will appear on footballpool.allpurposeyards.com, so bookmark the site and check it each Tuesday!
You may notice some additional content on these pages focusing on the draft. The pre- and during draft time period is one of my favourite time periods of the NFL season and I gave it as much time as I possibly could. Feel free to read through if you’re so inclined. I checked it earlier and there’s some comments I’d probably walk back (but won’t!) given what we’ve seen already in camp and preseason.
