There is one game the football world has been waiting for tonight, but aside from Brady-Belichick I, there are a few other intriguing matchups:
The NFC West divisional games will be big all season and Week 4 features two of them: a battle of unbeatens as the Cardinals travel to LA to take on the Rams, while the division’s only sub-.500 team, Seattle, has a chance to rectify that as they travel to an hour outside of San Francisco to take on the 49ers.
2-1 Baltimore goes to Denver to take on the undefeated Broncos. The Broncos have faced perhaps the easiest first three games in recent memory as they’ve beaten up on the suburban NYC teams and the Jaguars, so this game will be a real test for them. The Ravens’ games have been decided by 6, 1, and 2 points, and this game is a pick-em in Vegas so the anticipation is that they will be in for another tough one today. In contrast to the Broncos schedule, the Ravens have faced the Raiders, Chiefs, and Lions in the first three weeks (OK, the Lions aren’t much of a contrast).
3-0 Carolina tests its undefeated record at the 2-1 Cowboys. Dare I say there’s a *good* NFC East team this year? This will be a good for both teams as the Panthers’ punishing defense takes on the Cowboys’ explosive offense.
As we all predicted coming in to this season, the Las Vegas Raiders are 3-0 and will take that record into LA to take on the 2-1 Chargers. The Chargers are coming off a big win at Arrowhead, while the Raiders needed OT to beat the Dolphins.
All these games and I didn’t even touch on the Steelers at Lambeau. An enormous weekend of football action!
